SYNOPSIS

Recruitment video: Medic

DETAIL

Since this video about a rescue mission of the Austrian Army is experienced through the eyes of the wounded person, a lot of challenges arose in terms of location audio. It was essential to keep the setup compact and mobile since it needed to fit on the stretcher. And a lot of the dialog between the medics happened while the rescue helicopter was flying over the scene.

This was tackled by using a wireless setup and two recorders which were recording simultaneously (one of them on the stretcher and the other one stationary). This allowed for the best possible location recordings despite the challenging circumstances.

On a sounddesign level it was very important to get the feeling of the wounded person across - which loses conciousness multiple times in between. Last but not least, a lot of detail has gone into placing foley sounds in order to keep up with the general noise floor of the landing helicopter.
